SUNSIDE releases eagerly-awaited follow-up album:

It’s only been a year since their debut, but Sunside has been trying hard to answer fan requests for new music. Since the release of Forever Whenever, the band hit the fast track with a “Top 5 Unsigned Band” acknowledgment, a #1 hit on British radio, international and domestic airplay, on-air interviews, show promos and great buzz from industry press.

As these exciting events unfolded, the band began tracking for their follow-up LP throughout much of 2012, adding the finishing touches early this year. Sunside and team are happy to announce that their follow up album, The Stars Are Watching Us, is set for a March 22nd worldwide release, when it becomes available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and many more music sites.

When asked how the new album compares to the debut, both Zac and Mark agree that the new release has added texture, atmosphere, concept and maturity. “We wanted to take Sunside to the next level while still staying true to our original sound”, explains Zac. Mark adds that “there are still plenty of angst-riddled indie rock tracks with poppy hooks, but we think they come with added layers.”

The Stars Are Watching Us begins in this exact fashion, as “Sick Day at the Rave” unleashes its indie-rock-shoegaze sensibilities. It’s followed by the popilicious sounds of “Where Do I Hang My Heart?” and with the cross-over potential of “Tiny Houses”. From there, the album continues to get more and more conceptual and enters many dreamlike settings. Take the song “1” for instance. This track follows a boyhood protagonist on his search for acceptance, all set before a fantastical backdrop. Other tracks like “Defining Moments” and “When You Forget Me” pose questions of allegiance and remembrance, from perspectives of people and souls on their way “up”. But as quickly as certain themes go deep, songs like “Just Because It Is” thrust us into a 90s-rock-reminiscent frenzy of groove.

This album, like the first, has something for everyone, with many surprises and a song line-up that goes deeper in strength and maturity than its predecessor. The Stars Are Watching Us hits cyber-shelves on March 22nd, but The First 45 Radio Show on 102.6 Sine FM will be exclusively premiering two of the new tracks prior to the official release, for fans eager for a sneak-peak. Those outside of the area can tune in at SineFM.com, Fridays at 1pm (US East)/ 12 Noon (US Central).

Bio

Since the official unleashing into the worldwide music scene, SUNSIDE has enjoyed big highs and received exciting accolades. The 2012 release of their debut LP, Forever Whenever, threw it all into motion. Within just weeks, favorites like Driving In Cars and B-Side Girl were spinning on international airwaves and the world was getting their first taste of the 2-piece’s “high energy” and “riveting, hands-in-the-air” sound. Next came the convincingly positive press, including a “Top 5 Unsigned Band” ranking on the UK’s First 45 on SineFM and #1 Hit on Castle Rock Radio’s “Top 10 ” on Abbey 104FM.

Great support was also coming from home in the U.S., as Sunside singles aired across FM, college and internet radio and the band attracted label interest out of Los Angeles. Sunside quickly found themselves moving from a typical 9-5 life to spending time doing radio interviews, writing radio theme songs by request and sharing their music with the world.

So what’s next? As fans and industry are saying “Next big thing” and “Sunside is going places”, the band has recently wrapped up their second full-length album with uber-talented Producer, Bryan David in Dallas, TX. The new album is set to release on March 22nd and is available on iTunes, Amazon and numerous other online music stores.
